Jennifer Rene Psaki
Jennifer Rene Psaki is a American political advisor who was the 34th White House news secretary between 2021 and 222. As a part of the Democratic Party, she previously served in the Obama administration as the White House deputy press secretary (2009) as well as the White House deputy communications director (2009-2011); the spokesperson for the United States Department of State (2013-2015) and as the White House communications director (2015-2017. Psaki was a contributor to political campaigns to CNN from 2017 through 2020. Psaki's career started in 2001 when she worked on behalf of the reelection campaigns for Tom Harkin, an Iowa Democratic candidate running for the U.S. Senate. Psaki was later named the press secretary's deputy in John Kerry's 2004 presidential race. Psaki was also the director of communications for Joseph Crowley in the U.S. and was the regional press secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Psaki was the press secretary for the Obama reelection campaign in 2012. [20] Psaki was named spokesperson for the United States Department of State in February 2013. She was hired by the Department of State to fill the White House Press Secretary Jay Carney's position.[21] But, Josh Earnest took his place on May 30, 2014. In the year 2015, she was recalled to the White House as communications director and remained until the close of the Obama administration.
