Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman from America. In 2001, she founded The Corcoran Group in New York City. The company was sold to the company to NRT for $66 million. Then, shortly after she resigned from the business. Corcoran has participated in 12 episodes of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. Corcoran had signed 53 contracts until February, 2020. The biggest deal she signed was her $350,000 investment in Coverplay for 40%. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the youngest of 10 children in a middle class Irish-Catholic family. Florence Corcoran was Florence's mother and was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was always changing jobs during Corcoran’s life. Her family often relied on the free delivery of food from a friendly local supermarket. Corcoran recalls her father, a man who sometimes drank too much, and treated her mother with disrespect and condescendingly, especially after he'd consumed some drinks. Corcoran was a troubled student in school. She later discovered that she had dyslexia. Corcoran attended a Catholic elementary school in her neighborhood and began the high school year at St. Cecilia High School, Englewood. Corcoran completed her studies at Leonia High School with a degree in English after failing several courses during her freshman years.
